SUBMISSIONS
CURRENT DEADLINE: October 1st
(for October 2005 Anniversary issue)


Midnight Ink accepts 4 different types of submissions: 

   1. Serial-    a story that has 2  or more episodes.
                 (between 5 and 10 pages long)

   2. Feature-   a story that has  only 1 episode.
                 (between 5 and 15 pages long)

   3. Filler-    a one page strip  or several one-page
                 strips centering on one story/theme. 
                 (like comic strips; not necessarily  funny)

   4. Cover Art- Artwork, logos, and  designs made 
                 for the front and/or back cover of the book. 
                 (no specific theme necessary)


* We accept almost every style, subject, or format (within reason).
    ACCEPTABLE:
    -expletives (cursing), violence, and sex
    -altered photography, graphic novels, computer-generated images, and dialogue-less art
    NOT ACCEPTABLE:
    -porn and positive portrayals of racism, homophobia, or sexism
    -unaltered photography

* If your submission has been printed before, you MUST let us know so we can give credit to your previous publisher.

* MIDNIGHT INK will be 8.5in x 11in (210mm x 297mm)
    Live print area is 7.5in x 10in (190mm x 254mm). Originals must be resized and printed on 8.5in x 11in Letter or 210mm x 297mm A4 paper.
    Full bleed artwork should be 8.5in x 11in (210mm x 297mm).
    Submissions MUST be in Black & White or 85-line grayscale. Contact us if you plan to use more than 5 half-tone pages per submission.
    Number the back of each page in pencil. NO double-sided pages.
    You may email submissions for evaluation ONLY. In order to be printed, you must mail us hardcopies.

* MIDNIGHT INK will be published bi-monthly (every two months) beginning October 1, 2004.
    Submissions are due exactly one month prior to the printing.
    -for example, submissions to the April issue are due by March 1st.

* Currently, payment is one copy of each Midnight Ink issue in which your submission(s) appears.
    As M I grows, we hope to be able to provide submittors with monetary compensation.

* Current plans are to distribute Midnight Ink to comic book stores in the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
    Issues will also be available for purchase on this website.
