Natalie J. Hall Serial Mia Mia is a woman living in a harshly geometric world that lacks even the slightest hint of curved edges or surfaces. Her genius mind has created curves, but when she shares her artwork (curvy images) and inventions (balls and other rounded objects) with the world, she is mostly shunned and ostracized. Simple (story takes place in a geometric world) and perhaps a bit creepy or depressing. There is no dialogue, so the entire story has to be told with the artwork. |

R.D. Robinson Feature Untitled Jeffry, a little kid just about to turn thirteen, thinks he knows it all. He's typical, fascinated by how many options there are in this world, watching horror movies, listening to music, basically enjoying the finer things of being young. The day of his birthday, a few days before his big party on the weekend, his Grandfather comes by for a visit. He comes bearing gifts, items from times past, things that meant something to him at Jeffry's age. Grandpa is wise to the fact that their relationship is dwindling, their conversations getting shorter and shorter, and Jeffries attention span is much the same. Grandpa takes notice to the collection of Music posters on his wall, men with long hair, tattoos and gruff looks. Music that sounds like grinding machines compared to the music he once loved and enjoyed. He sees small statuettes of monsters devouring helpless victims, magazines covering gore movies, a stack of Horror DVD's (which Grandpa has no clue how to work) with titles he would never mention in public. It's not often Grandpa can make the long trip to see Jeffry or his own children, but this time he want's to make his visits mean something more. He begins to tell the tale of something from when he was a kid, a story spun so tightly a spider would be impressed. The tale of a creature so horrible it never shows it's face lest it's name be spoken. But whenever you have heard the tale it comes once it's name is spoken, killing all those who do not believe. I have no real preferences other than if my story gets chosen I would like it to be inked by someone who can draw decent horror. I really don't see an anime style bringing out the darkness of the tale. I would also want to know if the artist likes the script paneled or just paged. If they would like to deck out the page by themselves and choose the way to present it, then that's fine. If they would like me to panel the story that is good too, although I am not the greatest and usually just stick to basics. |

Natalie J. Hall Feature Tainted Muse This will be a series of illustrated poems. Either you or I will pick a poem for you to draw. Although this is a series, each poem will be drawn by a different artist. Some of my poetry can be found at www.natj.net/tainted, but there are a lot more that I haven't posted, so you'll have to contact me to see those. No particular style preferences. You have complete control over the look/format/style of the story. I have no preconceptions about how something should look. This is YOUR interpretation of my poetry. |

Neil Ellis Orts Feature untitled A young man visits his dying aunt on a bright August day. She welcomes his visit but refuses to believe it is August, insisting that her calendar, set on February, is correct. When he tries to change the calendar she reacts strongly. It ends quietly, poignantly. Understated realism. The artist should be able to show in B&W the contrast between the sunny day outside and the gloomy darkness she keeps inside her house. This is not an action story--it's very human and somber. Subtlety should be part of the aesthetic. |

Elizabeth W Feature untitled I write stories that have a fairy tale feel. Things like pianos swimming, underwater ice palaces, abandoned castles, cornfield mazes, elaborate palaces, ballet dancers, mostly children as the main characters but it isn't "kiddie". Light and majestic...I think that is the feel of most of the stories. |
